Silcarb is a manufacturer of silicon carbide Kiln Furniture for high-temperature industrial kilns operating up to 1650°C. Available in NBSIC, RBSIC/SISIC, RSIC, and OBSIC material grades, our kiln shelves, beams, batts, rollers, and structural components are designed for high load-bearing performance, thermal shock resistance, and chemical stability.
Used across ceramic tile, sanitaryware, refractory, and advanced ceramic industries, Silcarb kiln furniture ensures dimensional stability, reduced energy consumption, and extended service life in continuous and batch firing systems.
High Density, High-Quality Silicon Carbide based Kiln Furniture
SILCARB makes a whole range of silicon carbide-based kiln furniture.
Working with silicon carbide-based ceramics for the last four decades silcarb has an in-depth knowledge of the workings of SiC-based ceramics.
Broadly silcarb manufactures the following types sic based kiln furniture
Silcarb has been in the field of manufacturing Silicon Carbide based ceramics for the past 35-odd years in its state-of-the-art plant located in Bangalore, India. The Silicon Carbide that Silcarb manufactures has high strength carrying capabilities, high temperature withstanding capabilities and excellent thermal shock resistance. The first step in manufacturing is to prepare the ceramic raw materials and mix them homogeneously using various suitable additives. The ceramic mass is then processed using various forming processes like wet pressing or slip casting. After the forming, debinding and drying sintering is followed. To obtain the required material properties, special adjustments are made during the sintering process so that the requirements are met. Special analysis methods are used to evaluate the quality of the kiln furniture.
These silicon carbide-based beams and plates are ideally suitable for kiln furniture as they have high hot strength and high thermal conductivity when compared to oxide-bonded and other kiln furnitures.
Silcarb manufactures the complete range of SIC batts, Posts, Saggers, etc. The kiln furnitures are made from NBSIC, SISIC, and recrystallized SIC as per the application demands. Typically, SIC-based kiln furniture is lighter than traditional mullite etc based kiln furniture and our range of recrystallized silicon carbide furniture works to temperatures of 1700 degrees under high loads. Our SISIC saggers etc have a smooth non-granular surface making it the ideal choice for high-end component sintering.
