Silcarb is currently manufacturing a brand new electric tower melting furnace with an automated charging system, designed for high-efficiency aluminium melting operations. The furnace incorporates a new generation refractory system that significantly improves energy efficiency while maintaining durability in molten metal environments.
Electric tower furnaces with automated charging systems are increasingly being adopted in modern die casting plants and aluminium processing facilities to improve productivity and reduce energy consumption.

Silcarb is manufacturing a brand new electric tower furnace with a new age refractory castable as the metal contact material.
Typically most metal contact monolithic castable are non-insulating in nature (i.e. dense refractories).
Silcarb is building this furnace with a metal contact castable which is both non-wetting and insulating in nature thereby reducing the energy consumption drastically.
The furnace has a zero brick construction (i.e. the roof also is a complete cast monolithic) thereby avoiding all joints which is inherent in brick-lined roofs.
A key innovation in this furnace is the use of advanced monolithic refractory castables for molten metal contact areas. Traditional metal-contact refractory materials are usually dense and non-insulating, which can lead to higher heat loss during furnace operation.
Silcarb’s newly developed refractory system combines two important properties:
This combination helps maintain stable furnace temperatures while significantly improving overall energy efficiency.
The furnace features a complete monolithic construction, including a fully cast refractory roof. Conventional brick-lined furnace roofs contain multiple joints, which can weaken over time due to thermal expansion and repeated heating cycles.
By eliminating brick joints and using a cast monolithic structure, the furnace achieves:
This design enhances both reliability and operational efficiency.
The electric tower furnace is designed to operate with an automated aluminium charging system, allowing metal feedstock to be continuously introduced into the furnace.
Advantages of automated charging include:
Automation is increasingly becoming an essential feature of modern aluminium melting operations.
Silcarb designs and manufactures a wide range of aluminium melting and heat processing furnace systems, including:
Each furnace is engineered to provide high efficiency, reliability, and long operational life in demanding industrial environments.
