Silcarb has developed and manufactured a new drop quench aluminum casting heat treatment furnace designed for precise heat treatment and rapid quenching of aluminum components. These specialized furnaces are used in aluminum foundries and automotive component manufacturing where controlled heat treatment followed by rapid quenching is critical for achieving the desired mechanical properties.

Drop quench furnaces allow heat-treated components to be transferred immediately into a quenching medium, ensuring uniform cooling and consistent metallurgical results. This process is essential in aluminum alloy heat treatment processes such as solutionizing and aging.

Official Update

Silcarb has now manufactured a new drop quench aluminum casting heat treatment furnace. The furnace is a stand-alone type furnace with a charge carrier for charge lifting and lowering. The charge carrier can also be moved in the horizontal direction. The quench tank is mounted directly below the furnace so that the charge can be immediately dropped from the furnace to the quench tank after it is heat-treated. This allows the materials to be quenched at a faster rate without any loss of heat. Various quench media such as water, glycol or any other oils can be used as per the requirement.

Drop quench heat treatment furnaces are engineered to achieve rapid and controlled cooling immediately after the heat treatment cycle. The furnace system integrates the heating chamber and quench tank in a compact arrangement, enabling instant transfer of components.
